I am a CNRS researcher,
member of the applied math and computer science department of Grenoble University
(LJK, Lab. Jean Kunztmann).
My subjects of research are all related to mathematical optimization, and I try to keep a balance between theory and practice, believing that both should interact. I am involved in some applications of optimization to real-life problems (e.g. electricity production, mechanics) and to other scientific domains (e.g. machine learning).
Highlight: new research team
The new research team DAO has just been created, on mathematical optimization and machine learning for data science (website under contruction). We have a good group, and some positions available, if you are a student interested in these (hot) topic, drop me an email. We have also started a new seminar OGre on these topics with our colleagues from research labs of the campus and from some compagnies.
Highlight: Workshop TITAN
November 27 was fun with the workshop on large-scale inverse problems and optimization and applications, with applications to image processing and astrophysics, co-organized with Lab. Lagrange (Université de Nice et Observatoire de la cote d'Azur). It was the final event of the CNRS Masse de données Titan Project
