Check our new preprint on automatic detection of negation cues and scopes in biomedical texts.

Our new article on a standard consolidation theory for memory storage in the brain based on coupled neural fields has just been published in the Journal of Theoritical Biology.

Great news: our new work with the Venance Lab and Pierre Magistretti on astrocytic energetic fuelling of the neurons has been accepted in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the U.S.A.

About me

I am a "Directeur de Recherche" (i.e. research professor, with tenure) with Inria, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology.

My research activities are carried out with the Inria Project-Team AIstroSight, that I am heading. AIstroSight is a joint team between Inria, the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL, Lyon University Hospital), University Claude-Bernard Lyon-1 and the company Theranexus.

We are located in Lyon, France.

I am also Section Editor (Neuroscience) of the journal PLoS Computational Biology

A computational cell biologist, I use computer and mathematical models to study intracellular dynamics; in particular:

  • the intracellular biochemical networks at work in synaptic plasticity and its modulation, especially by astrocytes.
  • the influence of space and molecular crowding in cell signaling and biochemistry.
